Commissioners are appointed for four year terms of office and receive no financial compensation for their service. To be eligible for appointment, candidates must identify as female and be at least 18 years old. 

To apply, interested individuals must submit the following information by Friday, February 9, 2018, by 5:00pm EST. This information can be submitted online, mailed, or hand delivered to:

  1. A letter expressing the applicant’s desire and willingness to serve on the Baltimore City Commission for Women and indicating the strengths that the applicant would bring to the Commission; 
  2. A resume that highlights the applicant’s personal history and professional experience as they pertain to the above listed qualifications;
  3. Current mailing address and phone number. 

An application shall be deemed to have been transmitted by the prescribed deadline if all required information is delivered by email or by hand to the Office of the Mayor, or deposited in the United States mail, as registered or certified mail, by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018. 

Once the deadline for submissions has passed, a panel comprised of members from various community organizations will review all applications and make recommendations to the Mayor. Applicants will be notified concerning the status of their applications and subsequent steps in the recruitment process.
